The SECURIO B22 with a 1/4" strip cut is HSM's compact deskside shredder for everyday paper. It takes 17–19 sheets at a time through a 9.45" throat, so a folder of old drafts goes through in a couple of passes, and it sits comfortably beside a desk at about 14.8" x 12.2" x 23.6".

A 1/4" strip (about 5.8 mm) is DIN 66399 class P-2. That is fine for internal paperwork such as notes, drafts and routine correspondence. If you handle customer data, HR files or financial records, choose a cross-cut model such as the B22 1/16" x 5/8" (P-5) instead.

At a glance

• 17–19 sheets per pass – High capacity for a deskside machine.
• Also shreds staples, paper clips, credit cards and CDs/DVDs.
• 8.7-gallon bin with a 440 W motor and about 57 dB(A) noise level.
• Light and portable – About 25 lb, standard 120 V outlet.

Strip-cut waste is bulky, so for high daily volumes the larger B24 or B32 bins mean fewer trips to empty the shredder.
