Product Video Tour

The Powerline SP 5088 is two machines in one frame: an industrial shredder that feeds straight into a baler. Paper goes in at the top and leaves as compressed bales tied with strapping tape, ready for the recycler. It is built for sites that destroy paper by the tonne rather than by the bag, such as records centres, banks, government archives and shredding-service operators, where loose shred in sacks would fill a room within a day.

The 19.69" (500 mm) throat takes 510–550 sheets per pass, along with folders, crumpled paper, computer listings, credit cards, CDs/DVDs, USB sticks and floppy disks. Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed. The particle cut is 7/16" x 1 1/2–3 5/32", which meets DIN 66399 P-2 (with matching E-2, O-2 and T-2 ratings for cards, optical and electronic media). That is a volume-destruction level for general business records. If your policy asks for P-4 or higher, look at a finer-cut Powerline or SECURIO model instead.

What sets it apart

  • Shred and bale in one step – No bags to change and no separate baler to load, so one operator can run it continuously.
  • 510–550 sheets per pass – Whole files and archive boxes go through without being split up.
  • 19.69" throat – Wide enough for continuous-form printouts and folders laid flat.
  • 15.42 HP drive – Industrial power for shift-length runs.
  • Mixed media – Cards, discs and USB sticks go through the same feed as paper.

Installation notes

This is a fixed installation, not an office machine. It weighs about 3,660 lb (1,660 kg) and measures roughly 50.1" x 129.2" x 70.6", so check floor loading, door widths and access for the delivery vehicle before ordering. It needs a 208 V / 60 Hz supply, so plan the electrical connection in advance. Running consumables are shredder oil, waste bags and strapping tape. The WG 30 strapping tape is the one listed for the SP 5088.
